MAZON | A Jewish Response to Hunger
May 24, 2017
Greetings!
We have changed our Legacy eNewsletter. We are now designing our eNewsletters in-house with content that we hope you'll find more relevant and personal. We welcome your feedback and would love to hear the story of how you became involved with MAZON.
Our goal is to provide simple yet focused information on how gift planning options can help you fulfill your philanthropic goals. We also want to share current information and stories about the work that MAZON is doing to end hunger. Lastly, the eNewsletter will be a quarterly, rather than monthly communication.
I hope you enjoy this new format and many thanks for your ongoing support for MAZON!

What is your legacy?
What is a legacy? It is something we leave behind that lives beyond us.  It is a source of ongoing support for the causes that we care about and that we believe will make the world a better place for generations to come.
As you think about your own legacy, we hope that you will consider lasting and ongoing support for MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger.
MAZON has a long tradition of engaging the American Jewish community as well as anti-hunger organizations to work for the change we need to end hunger in the United States and Israel.
A legacy gift to MAZON will help us to advocate for millions who struggle with food insecurity.
Most people become members of the MAZON Legacy Society simply by letting us know that they have included MAZON in their will or trust.  You can become a member if you:
  • Include MAZON in your will or trust
  • Designate MAZON as a beneficiary of your retirement plan
  • Use your IRA to give a tax-free gift with a charitable IRA rollover
  • Establish a charitable gift annuity with MAZON as the ultimate beneficiary
  • Designate MAZON as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy
  • Designate MAZON as a beneficiary of a charitable remainder trust
There are no dues or fees associated with membership in the MAZON Legacy Society.
MAZON Work in Progress
In 2016, MAZON launched the national tour of This Is Hunger, a high-impact, multi-media educational experience that draws on the actual experiences of those living with hunger to inform and engage participants in actions to help end hunger in the United States.  This singular education and outreach program is currently touring the United States in a 53-foot-long, 10-foot high, 1,000 square foot double expandable trailer—literally a big rig!
With stops in major cities across the United States, the truck has already visited Phoenix, Tucson, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, Greater Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, Nashua (NH), and the NY-NJ-CT area. Future cities include Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Tulsa, and San Francisco.
In the few short months since its launch, literally thousands of people have gone through the This Is Hunger truck, including many families, congregants, JCC members, government officials, students, and youth groups.
