Postdoctoral Research Scholar – Parks, Recreation, Tourism Department – NC State
Position will focus on research related to community-based active living, health, parks, and nature – with a focus on dignity and thriving communities. A methodological emphasis will be placed on geospatial and/or computer vision analyses. Current projects are funded through the Trust for Public Land, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Soccer Foundation, and the World Playground Research Institute.
Duties include:
Research: Work with Dr. Hipp and interdisciplinary collaborators to address the distribution of outdoor play, active travel, and sports opportunities, among additional topics.
Writing and Communication: Lead and assist in development of academic presentations, peer-reviewed journal articles, non-technical reports, and other deliverables to funders and key communities.
Teaching and Mentoring: Train and help supervise undergraduate and graduate research assistants; prepare and deliver content in relevant PRTM or CGA courses as desired.
Professional Development and Networking: Interact with partners from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, fostering professional connections and potential employment opportunities across multiple sectors such as parks and recreation, public health, urban design, and geospatial analytics.

Fall 2025 Sustainability Internship Opportunity – Campus as a Classroom
We are excited to announce a new paid sustainability internship opportunity this fall! Guided by a faculty mentor, five Campus as a Classroom interns (fall semester only) will explore circularity on campus, network with off-campus partners, and compile resource data for a regional public dashboard. Interns will begin with an introduction to circularity and industrial symbiosis, followed by engagement with NC State’s regional business partners to assess resource use and waste management. This project aims to enhance campus circularity, foster partnerships between campus operations and businesses, and connect public and private stakeholders. While this project falls under the Campus As A Classroom umbrella, students will not be expected to attend monthly meetings and complete other program requirements of the year-long cohort.
Students will be expected to work for 10 hours/week at a pay rate of $18/hour. Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted using this form until Wednesday, March 19th at 11:59pm.

Assistant Athletic Trainer / Fellow – NC State Athletics Sport Medicine
Serve as an Athletic Training Fellow within the Department of Athletics for Sports Medicine. The position is responsible for assisting with the care of student-athletes, to include prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of the injured student-athletes under the supervision of the team physician for assigned sport(s). Sport assignment(s) may be modified at the discretion of the Sports Medicine administrative personnel. This is a 23 month appointment with the option to renew at the discretion of the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.

Production Assistant – NC State Athletics
Serve as camera operator to work live broadcasts and in-house productions for NC State University Athletics (football, basketball, baseball, soccer, etc.) in Raleigh, NC. Experience with live camera work in sports is highly preferable but not necessary. Other production positions (Graphics, Replay, TD, etc.) are a possibility too based on experience. Help during set up and tear down before and after games is expected.

Ticket Office Operations Assistant – NC State Athletics
The NC State Athletics Ticket Office is a division of the Athletic Department at NC State University and is responsible for all ticket operations at sporting events hosted by NC State Athletics. Ticket operations include the following sports: football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, wrestling, and gymnastics. Ticket Office employees will be responsible for providing assistance to the ticket office and its customers on game days. They will be handling customer inquiries, the distribution of event tickets, and other tasks as needed.
