On Friday, May 15th, the MAGIC Programs hosted our Annual Self-Care Retreat at the Presidio’s Crissy Field Center. We enjoyed candle making, creating aromatherapy diffusers, unleashing our inner child with coloring & crafting, taking a peaceful, guided nature walk with Rebekah, sharing good food, and listening to music. It was wonderful to welcome new participants as well as seeing some familiar faces. Thank you to the amazing team at the Presidio for hosting us!

For more than 20 years, we have served over 300,000 children, youth, and their families in the Bayview, Fillmore/Western Addition, and city-wide. Celebrate Juneteenth at Let the Music Play!
Join FivePoint and the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) for Let the Music Play!, a free community Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 27, from 12–4 PM at 1 Bill Walsh Way, San Francisco (across from Gilman Playground).
Enjoy live performances by The Curtis Family C-Notes and Pure Ecstasy, DJ sets by Reggie Daniels, hands-on art activities for all ages led by MoAD artists, and delicious offerings from local food trucks.

CalKIDS is a new program from the State of California that provides eligible families with free money for college. California newborns can receive up to $175 and eligible California public school students can receive up to $1,500.* CalKIDS was created to help families kickstart their college savings plan and increase access to higher education.

Our EcoApprentice Program is an incredible paid opportunity for transitional age youth who may be interested in community programming and advocacy or urban greening and agriculture.
This internship provides eco-literacy, community stewardship, and workforce development opportunities that immerse and support the community in securing a healthier future. Our organization centers the growth and leadership of underserved youth of color, especially residents of Southeast San Francisco.
If you are interested in workforce development, green-collar careers, or simply want to learn more about urban horticulture and community programming, our Eco-Apprentice job training program may be the perfect fit for you!
Please note: This is a 5-month program, from August - December 2026. EcoApprentices work 20+ hours a week, from Tuesday - Friday, at a rate of $21 per hour. No previous experience is required, and there are no barriers to entry.

The Bayview Hill Neighborhood Association Scholarship is now open, and this year we will award at least two scholarships of $1,000 each to support students as they pursue their educational goals.
This scholarship was established to honor the life and work of Quijuan Maloof, who served San Francisco through his work in community health for more than 30 years. It is a meaningful way for us to carry forward his legacy by investing in the promise and potential of young people in our community.
Please share the scholarship flyer with students, families, and anyone in your network who may know a deserving applicant. Sometimes an opportunity like this reaches the right person only because someone took a moment to pass it along.

The Block Party Fund
Apply for a chance to receive funding and permitting support for a block party in your neighborhood!
We’re eager to support events that foster vibrant, connected communities. Share with us how your block party will engage your community and transform your block into a lively, welcoming place for neighbors to connect.
Submit your idea using the form below. Proposals must utilize a San Francisco street as a public gathering space and Block Party hosts must obtain an SFMTA street closure permit.
We’ll review proposals on a rolling basis and aim to respond within 2-4 weeks.

Compass Family Services – Childcare Support Services (CCSS) provides year-round subsidized childcare for families experiencing homelessness in San Francisco with children under age 5 who are not yet in kindergarten.
Eligible families receive childcare vouchers, help with enrolling in licensed childcare programs, and ongoing case management support. Parents can apply online or email mgalindo@compass-sf.org for screening and eligibility information.

Basic Info:
Weekly from 5:30–6:30 PM at the San Francisco Fire Department Union Hall (325 Newhall St.). Attendance is expected. This is not a drop-off program — parents must stay and may be asked to help. Please respect the shared space (no playing near fire trucks or in storage areas). We do not meet between Thanksgiving and New Year’s due to the holiday toy drive.
Joining:
Families may attend a couple of meetings before committing.
Scouting America fee: Annual Scouting America Fee: register with Scouting America here! Your annual fee of $173 is payable on the anniversary of your registration and goes to Scouting America. That money pays for the infrastructure of scouts, including council camps.
Pack dues: our Pack Annual Dues are $145 (due in January of every year, half if you join after 6/30). The pack dues go to supplies (badges, neckerchiefs, activity supplies, and the cost to registered adult leaders) as well as financial assistance for those families who need it. Dues can be paid here.
Uniform required.
Every scout needs a uniform: details are available on our website. We occasionally have extra uniforms donated by families who have outgrown them - feel free to ask when you visit our Pack.

Discover & Go is a program provided by your library that offers free and low-cost passes for museums, science centers, zoos, theaters, and other cultural destinations. You must meet your library's minimum age requirement and live within your library's service area to use the Discover & Go Service.

How do I get a Pass?
Log in with your library card credentials and browse for passes by date or attractions. Make your reservation and print or download your pass shortly before your visit. Pass is non-transferable. You can have two active reservations per library card. If you reserve a pass and do not use it or cancel the reservation, the unused pass will count towards your limit. Pass is non-transferable. Valid ID is required.
Once you print/download your pass, you cannot cancel your reservation. You must have a printed or downloaded pass: SCREENSHOTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!
