Welcome back to Navigate Updates!
|
Appointment records in Navigate continue to climb, with over 38,000 appointments created since the start of the Fall 2024 semester. 76% of the appointments are for advising and the remaining 24% for non-advising appointments, such as Student Success Coaching and Tutoring. Since the start of the semester, over 750 referrals have been issued, which demonstrates engagement in the platform and the expansion of student records.
In this newsletter, we provide updates on the campaign feature and a reminder of active and inactive students in Navigate.

Mikayla Dalley, Academic Advisor in the College of Nursing, is recognized as an exemplary user of Navigate. Mikayla has had more appointments and appointment summaries in Navigate than any other user since the start of the fall semester. Mikayla's detailed notes help the institution better understand the student experience.
We appreciate your support of students through your use of Navigate, Mikayla!

As more users utilize the Appointment Campaign feature in Navigate, here are a few reminders:
|
- Adhere to this naming convention when naming a campaign:
- Unit Purpose - Term
- Example: CoS Petitions - Fall 2024
-
If an appointment was scheduled outside the campaign, there is a way to associate it with the campaign. To do this, the appointment must match the following parameters of the campaign (instructions linked in the button below):
- Within the date range of the campaign
- Student is a part of the campaign
-
The Service Type and Location match that of the campaign
- The staff organizer (i.e., advisor or coach) is associated with the campaign

ACTIVE VS. INACTIVE STUDENTS |
Students who are active in Navigate can login and schedule appointments; students who are inactive receive an error message if they try to login and cannot schedule appointments.
The Navigate Team receives several tickets from students with Navigate login issues. To be considered active in Navigate and to be able to login, a student must have an active status in the PeopleSoft Student Program/Plan page. If a student is not currently enrolled, the student will be listed as Discontinued and will therefore be inactive in Navigate and unable to login. As a reminder, it takes up to 48 hours for this information to feed from PeopleSoft to Navigate, so it will take at least a day after their commitment deposit is submitted to be able to login. The Navigate Team recently updated the error message students receive when their SSO credentials fail, which directs them to email navigateinfo@utah.edu.
To clarify which students are active (can schedule) and inactive (cannot schedule), please review the information below.
