Goma on Fire with Leaders to Spread God's Word |

Pastor Katavo and his wife, Daphrose

In Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo, local pastors, teachers, and evangelists are revitalizing local churches through training events that have provided them with French Africa Study Bibles or La Bible d’étude: perspectives africaines (BEPA). The initiative was made possible in part through the behind-the-scenes efforts of Ed Elliott, Founder of Oasis.
Jean Pasteur Katavo, an Oasis Trainer of Trainers, emphasized the importance of discipleship, stating, "The Lord's mandate is to, 'go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.' Church teachers cannot teach if they do not learn. They cannot learn if they do not study. They cannot study if they do not have a study Bible."
Africa Study Bibles serve as powerful tools for deepening biblical understanding. Katavo speculates that his training events have indirectly impacted around 200,000 people in local churches in the region.

At Lausanne 4 in Seoul, over 5,200 believers from 202 countries gathered to emphasize unity in global evangelization under the theme, "Let the Church Declare and Display Christ Together."
Dr Matthew Elliott, President of Oasis, noted, "Nearly every speaker from Africa was an Oasis author or contributor to the Africa Study Bible," underscoring Oasis's influence.
During the conference, Dr Elliott and Dr John Jusu, Supervising Editor of the Africa Study Bible, held a live conversation around the discipleship crisis in the global church.

Equipping Pastors in Ghana |
Oasis International recently equipped hundreds of local pastors with Africa Study Bibles in Nsawam Township, near Accra, Ghana. For many of these pastors working in one of Ghana’s underserved areas, this was their first encounter with a study Bible, let alone one through African eyes. They participated in a two-hour training session on how to use the Africa Study Bible for ministry. While they expressed deep appreciation, they pleaded for more copies to equip more pastors in Ghana, hoping Oasis could equip all of the churches in Nsawam.
