NC State College Advising Corps (2025-26 Cohort)

The NC State College Advising Corps (CAC) is an AmeriCorps college access program that aims to increase the post-secondary enrollment for low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students in North Carolina. NC State CAC recruits recent college graduates to serve as “near peer” AmeriCorps college advisers in under-resourced high schools across the state. Assistant Professor – Tourism, Recreation and Sport – UNC-Wilmington

The School of Health and Applied Human Sciences (SHAHS), within the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), seeks an outstanding faculty member for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track), nine-month position in the School’s Tourism, Recreation, & Sport program beginning August 2025. Faculty Position – Assistant Professor – Department of Tourism, Leisure, and Hospitality Management at National Chi Nan University, Taiwan

Teaching Assistant Professor of Recreation and Sport Management – University of Arkansas

Nature and Health Project Specialist – Texas A&M

The project specialist is responsible for assisting in the planning and executing of research and outreach programs for the Plants, Nature, and Health Initiative (PNHI) and the Ellison Endowed Chair in Horticultural Sciences, including meetings, workshops, and conferences, while managing related communications and educational materials. Multiple Scholarship Opportunities for PRT and CNR Students

PRTM and CNR Scholarships are now available for application with a priority deadline of February 15th. To apply for scholarships, login with your MyPack Portal credentials and complete the general application. After you complete the General Application, you may see a College supplemental application or Other Recommended Opportunities. This means more information is being requested. Review the description(s) and, if you qualify and want to apply, complete the additional questions. You will receive a confirmation email upon receipt of your submitted application. You will receive an email from the scholarship committee only if you are selected for a scholarship.

NRPA 2025 Student Scholarships

The Student Scholarships are presented to outstanding undergraduate or graduate student in recognition of continuous extraordinary community service or contributions to the parks and recreation field. The Scholarships provides selected students (up to 2) with the opportunity to explore the operation of NRPA at the 2025 NRPA Annual Conference. Participants will meet with mentors, be recognized at the awards ceremony and attend various conference sessions and meetings. A primary focus of the program is to inspire future participation and leadership in NRPA and to develop professional contacts. Conference registration will be complimentary and a travel/hotel stipend will be provided.

Thriving in Interdisciplinary Teams Workshop Series – Open to All NC State Students

If you want to solve society’s grand challenges, you can’t do it alone. Learn to work effectively with peers and professors from a wide range of backgrounds and learn how to inspire others towards a common goal. We are hosting two sections in our Spring 2025 pilot program, one for undergraduate students and one for graduate students. We are accepting 20 students for each section. The application will take approximately 10 minutes to complete, and applications will be accepted through Sunday, January 19. Students will be notified the week of January 20 of their acceptance.

Steele Internship Program – Baseball Hall of Fame

The Frank and Peggy Steele Internship Program for Youth Leadership Development provides meaningful, hands-on training in numerous professional careers. In addition, interns learn and work in the company of baseball’s best-known personalities during the annual Hall of Fame Weekend and Induction Ceremony, held in Cooperstown each summer. Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Summer Intern – City of Raleigh

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is looking for motivated interns for the summer! Accessible Wildland Trails Research Intern – Adirondack Land Trust

This year’s lead project will be a broad scan of wildland trails with universal accessibility to help the Adirondack Land Trust identify opportunities where land protection and the potential to enhance community recreational access may intersect. Our intern will work with the director of communications, conservation staff, and partners to research sites with universal access wildland trails that provide outdoor recreation opportunities for people with disabilities and other historically underserved or marginalized populations. The information collected will provide a baseline of knowledge that can help guide land protection by identifying gaps and opportunities.

North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) Internship – Multiple Positions

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) is offering several summer internship opportunities for 2025. Interns will work closely with NCWRC staff, gaining valuable experience in applied management and conservation as well as hands-on skills critical for future employment in the field of natural resources. All internships will run for a duration of 10 weeks from May 19 through July 25 and will be paid at a rate of $15/hour. Botanical Garden Assistant – Western Carolina University

Highlands Biological Station (HBS) is a scientific research station focused on the research and education of the natural heritage of the Highlands Plateau while preserving the biological richness of the southern Appalachian Mountains. HBS is a multi-campus center of Western Carolina University and is comprised of the Highlands Nature Center, Highlands Botanical Garden, William Chambers Coker Laboratory, and the Richard C. Bruce Biodiversity Laboratory. The successful applicant will assist in all aspects of botanic garden operations including the use of proper horticultural practices and power equipment.
