SUE TROUT TO TEACH IN WESTMINSTER ACADEMY
Please join us as we read Daniel Mason's North Woods, a novel that looks at the history of one house and its inhabitants over four centuries.  The novel interrogates American history, American literature, and nation-building, but at its heart is a novel about love, loss, and the possibilities in the afterlife.  Ultimately, the novel is a love song to the natural and supernatural worlds and the enduring human spirit. Join Belmont Professor and long-time WPC friend, Sue Tully Trout.

Mary Wheeler will lead a discussion of the novel Theo of Golden

by Allen Levi.  The story centers around the age-old plot of a mysterious stranger coming to town. Staying for only one year, this elderly gentleman finds himself in a welcoming southern coffee shop, mesmerized by a wall of 92 framed pencil portraits of local people. One by one, he purchases each portrait and arranges meetings of "bestowals" by the town square fountain, whereby he gives them back to their rightful owners. Conversations ensue, and because of his genuine interest in each individual, friendships are knit, and the community becomes more cohesive. Kindness is contagious, and Theo's gentle, generous presence brings transformational healing where it is sorely needed.

The author of the novel, Allen Levi, is a former lawyer, judge, and singer/songwriter.  In the novel, he invites all readers to believe in the goodness nestled in every person. Please join us for this presentation, whether or not you have read the book! Bring questions and observations from your reading, or come with curiosity for how one compassionate person can make a difference.

Youth Mission Trip

Jamaica Mission Trip

On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Mellissa struck the Island of Jamaica. Just over 100 days ago. The unprecedented level of destruction left in the hurricane's wake devastated communities. Much work remains as Jamaicans recover. For this reason, Westminster is sending a team of high school youth and adult leaders to Mandeville, Jamaica. Specifically, we will support the community’s recovery efforts by repairing or replacing roofs at Ebenezer Primary School.
