Dear Cathedral Family,

Cathedral High School has begun her 101st year, and I have started my fourth year at this beloved school. Talk about a humble perspective! It is indeed an honor to be present at this significant time in our school's long and fantastic history.

Speaking of Cathedral’s history,  I invite you to join us next month as we gather to celebrate our past and prepare for our future. Our Evening of Excellence is Thursday, October 3. At this event, we will honor our inaugural group of inductees into the Circle of Excellence. The Circle of Excellence honors members of the Cathedral community who have made significant, substantial, and long-standing contributions to Cathedral, their city, state, country, or global community. During the evening, we will also offer an opportunity for you to support our tuition assistance program, as well as our ongoing commitment to our outstanding educators. Whether you are new to our family or not (but especially if you are new), this celebration is an ideal time to learn about the "Cathedral way."

When I arrived here in early 2016, one of the first things I was told about Cathedral is that we are the most diverse school in Indiana, and that is one of our greatest strengths. As a Catholic, Holy Cross school, it is a primary part of our mission and vision to welcome students from various backgrounds, neighborhoods, and middle schools. This year is another example of that: it has been a strong affirmation to see students come together in our classrooms, in our marching band and choirs, on our theatre stage, and on our sports teams to form a new chapter of the wonderful, diverse Cathedral family. The tradition continues!

I ask you to join me in gratitude to God for the gifts He has given us, especially the gift of this wonderful school we call home. Firm and steadfast in our Catholic, Holy Cross roots, year 101 is in full swing. Go, Irish!

News from Cathedral

Introducing Cathedral's Circle of Excellence!

As we culminate Cathedral's first 100 years and head into the next, we are proud to announce Cathedral's Circle of Excellence! Formed to honor members of the Cathedral community who have made a significant, substantial, and long-standing contribution to Cathedral or their city, state, country, or global community, 19 members of the Cathedral family will form the inaugural Circle of Excellence class. With inductees spanning Cathedral's history, from the school's humble beginnings in 1918, all the way to present day, each of the 19 inductees has exemplified excellence.

See the full list of inductees at

We thank each of the inductees for their contributions and invite you to join us in honoring them on October 3 for an Evening of Excellence. Not only will this be an opportunity to honor those who have come before us, but also it will allow us to bless those who come after us. Visit to learn more and RSVP for the Evening of Excellence.
