Note from our Office
Dear Calumet County 4-H,
How is it May and we have one more month until Summer?!
With this is coming tons of project learning opportunities, along with some other ways for members to explore their Sparks. In 4-H, "Sparks" refer to the interests, passionas, or talents that truly excite and motivate a young person--basically, what "lights a fire" inside them. It could be anything from archery to robotics, photography, swine, public speaking or even civic engagement.
The idea behind Sparks is to help youth discover what they love and then build on that through 4-h projects, mentorship, and leadership opportunities. When young people are connect to their Spark, they tend to be more engaged, confident, and resilient. It's a big part of what 4-H is all about! What does your child(ren) have a Spark in?
As always, please feel free to reach out to our office with any questions or concerns. I can be reached on my work cell at 920-483-0646 or by email at carlea.liermann@wisc.edu.
Sincerely,
Carlea Liermann
