Open Enrollment for 2027 begins on Thursday, October 29 at 8 a.m. (PT) and ends on Friday, November 20, at 5 p.m. (PT).
On October 6th, the Systemwide HR Vice President Dianna Henderson sent a letter to the community regarding the work the UC teams have put into managing cost increases to plans while continuing to offer comprehensive coverage, a range of health plan choices and access to care.
UC will continue to offer the same medical plans, with no anticipated changes to carriers or plan administrators. The 2027 Open Enrollment FAQs has more information about what’s changing. Key updates include shifting premiums, adjustments to certain out-of-pocket care costs, and the renaming of Accolade — the healthcare advocate for HealthSavings+ and UC Care — to Transcarent. UCSB’s Open Enrollment website, which includes the Event Flyer with dates and links to our Open Enrollment webinars, presentations, drop-in sessions, and other important resources is available now!
- UCOP's Open Enrollment website, which includes all open enrollment materials, information on what is new or changing, tools, medical rates and resources will be ready by October 29, 2026. These resources will also be available in Spanish on the website.

ALEX, your virtual benefits counselor, will be available starting 10/23 to help identify the plan that fits best for you. A Spanish option is available within the tool.

Employee Medical Plan Costs (2027) — the chart of premium costs per pay band will be available on October 29, 2026 on the UC Open Enrollment website.

As a reminder, you must enroll or re-enroll in your Health and/or Dependent Care FSA (flexible spending account) each year.
Questions regarding Open Enrollment can be directed to HR ServiceNow. Select Employee Services > Benefits > Open Enrollment.
The Open Enrollment portal will be available by accessing UCPath beginning Thursday, Oct. 29, at 8 a.m. (PT) to make your benefits elections. To finalize your choices, please ensure to submit your choices by Friday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m. (PT). Please log in to UCPath for questions regarding the enrollment process or you can call the UCPath Center at (855) 982-7284 for assistance.
