Division of Student Affairs

Dear Student Affairs colleagues,
It is hard to believe Fall Break is here! We have had an energizing first month on campus with events, the launch of Well-being Wednesdays, and an early Parent & Family Weekend (PFW). A special thanks to everyone who made PFW such a warm and welcoming experience for our students and families. I loved seeing our division at the family tailgate, cooking classes, Dr. G's Fun House, and our first-ever 5K/1 Mile Fun Run!
As we enter the second half of the semester, I want to note some upcoming opportunities:
|
-
This evening, I am meeting with mid-level staff (5-19 years in higher ed) about professional goals, career trajectories, networking, and current issues in our field as part of Coffee and Conversations with Dr. G. If you are not able to sign up for today's event, more opportunities will be scheduled in the future.
- Well-being Wednesdays are happening on Mudd Field every Wednesday through November 12, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Join our colleagues from across the division in promoting well-being for our students and ourselves. And, stop by the farmer’s market to pick up healthy goods from local vendors! This is a priority initiative for the division, and I ask that folks please sign-up to assist with event logistics as you are able.
-
As students plan for the Spring semester, please remind them of Dialogue Across Difference (DxD). Registration opens November 11.
-
Finally, Leadership Week is October 20–25. A collaboration with the Bauer Leaders Academy, Leadership Week supports one of our divisional anchors: Student Leadership Development. The week is filled with opportunities for students to learn more about leadership skills and engage with one another. Please encourage them to attend!
|
I look forward to seeing you at our next Divisional Meeting on Wednesday, November 5, at 8:30 a.m. in Risa Commons.
Warmly,
|
Anna "Dr. G" Gonzalez
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
