'68 CENTER STAFF MEMBER FEATURED QUOTE:
Why is it so important to explore opportunities through January Jumpstart?
"The '68 Center January Jumpstart programs provide opportunities to learn about and "try on" roles across across career communities. Use January Jumpstart to intentionally plan your summer. I encourage students to attend at least one Virtual Career Trek and one alumni learning program, such as a "How'd You Get There" speaker or a Job Shadow through EphLink. We also have skill-building workshops and Career Prep Essentials to ensure that you are ready for internship applications. As you listen and learn from alumni, take time to reflect on the skills, interests, and values that show in up their work and how they align with your own. And don't forget to put your January Jumpstart programs on your resume to show your interests and skills learned!"  -- Emma Cutrufello, Associate Director, Director of Career Preparation

Officially Begun!
🎉

With Winter Study being canceled this year, we have launched January Jumpstart! Use this time through winter break to kick off your internship or job search and take advantage of the many exploratory opportunities we will be offering. These opportunities include: virtual career treks, alumni speaker events, Career Preparation Essentials workshops, wINTERNships, a Meetup, and more! With more than 50 events and 10 career treks across career communities, there is something for everyone.

A special round of applause goes to all the students who submitted wINTERNship applications during the busiest time in the academic semester!
"The amount of student interest and the number of applications submitted for our January wINTERNship program are unprecedented in the 24 years that I have been at Williams!" --Dawn Dellea, Manager of Alumni and Parent Programs
We are looking for 12 students passionate about having an impact on Racial Justice to apply the Entrepreneurial Method to this vexing problem. Students will form teams, participate in brainstorming sessions and a few workshops and then research and develop an idea.

Win a $800 stipend to apply the Entrepreneurial Method to the issues around Racial Justice over the winter break. Students can come with an idea or participate in structured brainstorming to zero in on a viable idea. You don't have to have an idea already to participate! Work on an important issue, learn how the Entrepreneurial Method can help solve problems, and earn some spending money along the way!

To apply, please upload a statement of interest (1-page max) and resume to the application on Handshake. The deadline is Monday, December 21st.
Reminder! We are hiring a Peer Advisor for the Science & Health Professions Career Community.
The Science & Health Professions Career Community in the '68 Center for Career Exploration at Williams is looking for a responsible and energetic student to join our team for the spring 2021 semester! As part of your work, you will help advise students related to the internship and job search process, most often with resumes and cover letters and conducting mock interviews. Additionally, you will serve as a ‘68 Center ambassador – helping promote programs and resources with your peers and positively contributing to the ’68 Center brand.
Apply!
Happy Holidays!
...from the '68 Center for Career Exploration team to you.
Have a wonderful break! Be safe.
