National Family Caregivers Month |
November is National Family Caregivers Month—a time to recognize and honor the millions of people who provide care and support to loved ones. Caregivers play an essential role in maintaining the health and well-being of family members, often balancing their own needs alongside the needs of others. This month, take a moment to celebrate their compassion and commitment, and remember that caring for others starts with caring for yourself.

Men's Health Awareness Month |
November is Men’s Health Awareness Month—a time to highlight the importance of physical and mental well-being for men and boys. Often recognized through “Movember,” this month encourages conversations about topics like prostate and testicular cancer, mental health, and overall wellness. It’s a reminder that taking care of your health means more than just staying strong—it means staying proactive. Encourage the men in your life to schedule checkups, reach out for support when needed, and make healthy choices that last far beyond November.

Teaching Media Literacy & Digital Wellbeing for Your Students: Why It's So Important, and How to Get Started |
November 5, 2025 3:00-4:00 EST
The world– and technology– has changed dramatically in the 21st century, and screentime fills our lives, particularly for young people. The digital world provides tremendous opportunities for increased knowledge, fun, and connection, but some content and digital habits can be unhealthy or dangerous, and we can easily be subject to misinformation.
Health experts as well as policymakers are increasingly recognizing the need to educate young people with the skills they need to live healthy and well-informed lives in their highly digital worlds. These media literacy skills -- including health information literacy, mental health and self-regulation of social media use, online safety and wellbeing, and how media can impact health decision making -- are essential for student learning and wellbeing today.
This presentation will:
- Teach educators the basic concepts and definitions of media literacy
- Demonstrate why it's essential in health education today and show evidence as to its effectiveness related to better health decision making and health outcomes
- Reference media literacy skills in the National Consensus for School Health Education Standards
-
Show how to find resources to increase your knowledge and comfort around media literacy topics and explore curriculum resources for teaching.
