Baylor University and Startup Waco have teamed up to present the Innovators Forum Speaker Series. Join us on today for an engaging discussion focused on early-stage startups, raising capital, and the latest trends in entrepreneurship. Trey Bowles, a recognized expert in technology, startups, and fundraising, will share his insights from his experiences with Techstars, the Dallas Entrepreneur Center, and his work supporting thousands of startups. His leadership in the industry has recently been recognized by D Magazine. This event is free and open to all Baylor faculty, staff, students, and members of the Waco community.

Baylor School of Engineering and Computer Science Distinguished Professor, Dr. Robert Marks, and PhD student, Jonathan Swindell, have collaborated with Joshua Marks to develop a plagiarism detection system that measures the degree to which a document has been originated by a writer using use of mouse, keyboard or other computer resources. This system identifies plagiarized content in student submissions, manuscripts, news content, and other materials to ensure that the content is original.

Texas Medical Center Innovation |

Baylor Schotts Professor of Chemistry, Dr. Daniel Romo, and his collaborators, including Dr. Susan E. Bates (Columbia Medical), have been accepted to participate in the Texas Medical Center Accelerator for Cancer Therapeutics to further develop a novel approach to treating pancreatic cancer. The nine-month accelerator is funded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) and is designed to prepare academic researchers and early-stage companies for success.
