Why Our Office Loves the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo

Bringing people together is one of our favorite pastimes here at Pasadena Family Dentistry. It’s why we remain as active in the community as possible and always keep patients up to date on fun events happening nearby!

If you weren’t already aware, we’d love to introduce you to the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo (or PLSR), an event organized by volunteers near and dear to our hearts.
Gary Williams, one of our long-time patients and a faithful volunteer of PLSR
Just a few of PLSR’s core values include achieving success through education, benefitting the community, supporting youth, and preserving cowboy heritage. Their current mission statement highlights the importance of breeding and raising animals and farm products for the benefit of the public as well as promoting and maintaining agricultural research and educational functions.

Did you know that the Livestock Show & Rodeo has been operating in Pasadena since the late 1940s? In 1949, the United States had entered a post-war status and Pasadena was a small town of approximately 10,000 residents, not to mention an abundance of horses and farmland. The founders of the rodeo, a group of several Pasadena businessmen, created the event to bring the citizens of Pasadena together.

They wanted to illustrate how the cowboys and businessmen could work together successfully. Pasadena was also beginning to boom as an industrial community.
Fantastic turnout at PLSR!
The Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo has helped maintain our city's roots and establish great business practices and economic growth for our community.

The event will be taking place on October 28th at the Dow Park Athletic Complex located at 801 E P St, Deer Park, TX 77536. If you’d like to sign up, visit this link for more details.
