Dear Student,
Next Monday, February 12, you will receive an email from
grandriversolutions@qualtrics-survey.com inviting you to participate in the 2024 Tufts Student Perspectives on Sexual Misconduct Survey. This anonymous survey has been designed to be as easy as possible to complete.
Whether you have personally experienced sexual misconduct or not,
your voice matters. Results from the survey will inform Tufts’ ongoing sexual misconduct prevention efforts as well as the university’s response, resources, and support for sexual assault, sexual harassment, interpersonal violence, and stalking. I encourage you to share your perspective and participate in this survey.
Why a Survey?
In 2021, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts passed the Campus Sexual Assault Law (CSAL), which requires that all private and public higher education institutions in Massachusetts conduct a campus sexual misconduct climate survey no less than every 4 years.
Even before this law passed, Tufts had already designed its own survey—the Tufts Attitudes about Sexual Conduct Survey (TASCS)—to collect information about student perceptions, attitudes, and opinions about behaviors related to sexual misconduct and sexual assault. TASCS was conducted twice—in 2015 and 2017. Past survey questions and response data can be found on the Office of Equal Opportunity website.
In April 2022, a third TASCS survey was delivered to all Tufts undergraduate and graduate students, but less than 5% of students responded. This response rate was determined to be statistically inadequate to report upon, and we were unable to use the data.
We don’t want this to happen again! Why? Because survey results help us identify concerns about campus climate, culture, and other aspects of student life that contribute to sexual misconduct. Results also help us improve Tufts’ sexual misconduct response and prevention efforts on all four campuses.
Help make this survey successful—add your voice. The survey is anonymous and will remain open until
March 18, 2024. You can learn more about the survey by visiting this FAQ page.
Thank you in advance for participating in the 2024 Student Perspectives on Sexual Misconduct Survey. Your feedback is important to me, our school, and the entire Tufts community.
Remember to check your Tufts email inbox next Monday, February 12 for the survey link from grandriversolutions@qualtrics-survey.com. If you don’t see it, please check your spam folder.
