100% PARTICIPATION, 100% COMMITMENT!
We’re proud to celebrate an incredible milestone. In 2024–25, we achieved 100% giving participation from our Board of Trustees, the Warm Hearth, Inc. Board, and our employees. Every single one of them has made a personal decision to support the mission of Warm Hearth Village.
This level of commitment speaks volumes. Our volunteer boards and staff are not only champions of our work—they are true partners in it. Their collective generosity helps fund charitable care for seniors, support team member scholarships, and provide assistance to those in need throughout our community.
This kind of unity sends a powerful message to our residents, families, and future donors: We believe in the mission. We’re all in.

HONORING JAMES C. BAKER
In June, we proudly dedicated a meaningful new space at Warm Hearth Village: The James C. Baker Community Garden—a living tribute to a man whose quiet leadership and deep-rooted values have left a lasting mark on our community.
Jim Baker, Professor Emeritus of Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences at Virginia Tech, is admired not only for his academic legacy, but also for his thoughtfulness, humility, and care for others. His lifelong connection to the land—and the lessons it teaches about growth, patience, and intention—make this garden a beautifully fitting tribute.
We’re also grateful to the Baker family for honoring the memory of Jeannie Baker, Jim’s beloved wife, with a butterfly on the Kaleidoscope Wall at Kroontje Health Care Center. Though she is no longer with us, her vibrant spirit lives on in this meaningful tribute and in the lives she touched.
Together, these gifts reflect a legacy rooted in love, community, and enduring impact.
