PDX Customer Service Champions Honored Live on  Tuesday, Oct. 27
An airline employee who used her own money to buy milk  from a vending machine to bring relief to a frazzled parent of a hungry toddler and an employee who works seven days a week to cover for vacation relief. These are just two of the many stories that will be shared at our virtual awards ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from noon to 1 p.m., where we recognize this quarter's customer service winners for each airport industry. Add this event to your Outlook calendar.
PDX Next Chief Projects Officer Vince Granato will provide an update on construction happening at the airport and Katherine Lam, owner of Bambuza Vietnam Kitchen at PDX, will share a healthy cooking demonstration.
You can watch the virtual ceremony live at go.pdx.com/QuarterlyAwards. If you can't watch in real time, a recording will be posted and shared after the event.

OHA Requires Face Coverings at All Times While at Work
Oregon recently revised its public health guidance and now requires that a mask or face covering be worn at all times when at work. This includes hallways, bathrooms, elevators, break rooms, conference rooms and other common or shared spaces. Face coverings are also required even if six feet of distance can be maintained, a change from earlier guidance. Read the new requirements.
November Construction Impacts
In mid-November, most airline ticket counter offices will move to temporary offices outside the north baggage claim and alongside the lower roadway at PDX. The relocation coincides with construction in the north and south throats as we make room for the new main terminal footprint. Catch up on what else is new with PDX Next.
Stay Safe, Stay Smart: Airport Rules Get Update
Keeping up to date on airport policies and PDX rules is an important part of your job. They are included in all leases and agreements signed by airport tenants and every employee is required to follow them. Additionally, the mandatory training to obtain your PDX security badge also references the airport rules. Earlier this year, several new amendments were added to the PDX rules. To help you stay informed, we’ve put together a quick overview of what’s new.

Ryan and Randy of Rose City Window Cleaning perform high dusting from a lift above the floor of the south lobby near the B/C checkpoint. This same crew also cleans the terminal windows as well as the glass on the side of the Port of Portland HQ building, adjacent to the long-term parking garage.
About PDX In Pictures: For this periodic segment, we've asked Airport Duty Manager Brian Burk to share photos he captures while on the job with PDX Airport Operations. Brian has worked for the Port of Portland since 2007, but his first PDX job was as a high schooler in 1994. He's a native Portlander and a pilot who loves photography, flying and taking people behind the scenes of his favorite place: PDX.
