We hope your fall is off to a good start! To support you in your environmental literacy efforts, we're excited to share some local funding and professional development opportunities.
Grants for Classroom Water Projects
Our partner, the Water Education Water Awareness Committee (WEWAC), is offering teachers in western San Bernardino County the opportunity to receive up to $1,200 for water-related software, activities, and supplies to assist with classroom or virtual learning! Applications are now open! The program's goal is to improve and supplement academic instruction by providing financial support to teachers seeking to do creative classroom projects that increase students' awareness of the importance of water in Southern California. Deadline to apply is November 30th. The application and more information is available on the WEWAC website.
CBWCD Poster Contest
With your help, this year's poster contest is sure to stun! Art submissions are open to K-6 students in our service area and every entry is an opportunity to win cash prizes for both the student artist and participating teachers! More details at cbwcd.org/poster.
K-5 Educator Survey
As part of a California state-wide education initiative, the Children's Environmental Literacy Foundation is looking to learn from the expertise of elementary school educators to inform the development of K-5 curricular resources focused on climate change and environmental justice. These will be free education resources/lessons for teachers and will align to core California curriculum standards and California’s EP&Cs. To help teachers promote student understanding of environmental topics, leading to action in their communities, they hope you'll take a moment to complete this 5-7 minute survey.
