Director's Message

The 2025/26 season has kicked off with great success for our Surf organization including games in SOCAL Spring leagues and local tournaments. See below for special recognition of Girls 2012 and Boys 2011 from this weekend's events.

Club-wide our uniform orders are processing and it is wonderful to see the new navy Surf Nation training kits at team practices. Contact your team manager if you need assistance or to resend your unique player email details.

With summer nearly upon us, check out our local camps including the introduction of the NEW! Lil Surfers designed for 4 & 5 year-olds. We offer camps for all age groups open to club players and broadly to our community. In August we have our annual Surf Players-Only camp just before the 9th Annual Surf Classic Tournament and start of Fall League. I’m excited to invite everyone to our official Surf Club Family Day on Saturday July 12. Save the date and look for details forthcoming in June’s monthly newsletter.

April Tournament Wins!

Congratulations to Girls 2012 winning four straight games and shutting out their opponents 22-0 to win their group at the Spring Madness Cup Tournament in Oceanside.

At the Icebreakers Cup in Temecula, Boys 2011 won their group with a W" and 2 draws before competing in the finals and finishing as runner-up.

Introducing Lil' Surfers

Designed for 4 & 5 year-olds, our newest community program introduces little ones to the game of soccer through 45-minute fun training sessions focusing on basic motor skills, the FUNdamentals of soccer, and small-sided games. Standout Super Surfers rewarded with special prizes. (2) sessions available each week are free to the community!

Coach's Corner: Jorge Cortes

This month we are featuring Coach Jorge Cortes! Jorge's background includes captain/starting goalie with Santa Ana College, All League OEC Conference and Varsity Assistant Coach with SCHS during their 2019 State and D1 CIF Champtionship.

Since 2016, Jorge has provided specialized training and mentorship to our club's goalkeepers. This includes weekly dedicated clinics across 3 age groups to target unique skills for the goalie position.

This unique program brings together Surf Club players and coaches across the US to participate in regional and national ID camps during winter and early spring.

Coaches Leon and Tori have lead roles for Boys National 2013 and Girls National 2011 respectively as teams are carefully curated from local Surf clubs for special opportunities to play in top tournaments this Spring and Summer 2025: Surf Cup San Diego, Surf Cup International (Spain), MIC (Dominican Republic), and Foyle Cup (Northern Ireland.)

Alumni Player Kudos!

Congratulations to San Clemente Surf Alumni Christian Sanchez and Carter Cooper for recent awards in their freshmen year at Irvine Valley College!

Christian was selected to the 2nd Team All League Team in Orange Coast Conference.

Carter was named 2024 Defensive Player of the Year.

Legacy Surf Kit Round-up!

Are your closets overflowing with Surf Club legacy uniforms? Consider donating them to the club! Accepting jerseys, shorts, socks and any Surf- branded clothing.

Collection Boxes will be at every Friday Skills Clinics between 4pm-6pm in May.
