GVSU Night at Comerica Park
Join the Grand Valley community for GVSU Night at Comerica Park on Tuesday, July 31! It will be an evening full of Laker pride as the Detroit Tigers take on the Cincinnati Reds.

Every ticket sold through the designated package will include a $5 donation from the Tigers to support the GVSU Scholarship Fund, and will include a limited edition co-branded Detroit Tigers and GVSU baseball hat. Purchase your tickets now before the hats are gone!

You can also tailgate with us before the big game! We'll reunite and celebrate at the Detroit Center together before flooding the stadium in Laker Blue.

Charles Ragauss, '09, is the director of product management at Exponential ETFs, the first exchange-traded fund issuer in the entire state of Michigan. Ragauss recalls fond memories of his involvement in the student investment club at Grand Valley, from regular meetings in the Devos Center to annual trips to the Chicago Fed. Join us in Allendale on August 20 as we welcome our newest Lakers to their home away from home. Help students settle into their new living space, and give their parents peace of mind, too.

You'll receive a t-shirt at check-in and breakfast and lunch are provided. This event is for adults, requires physical activity, and will go on rain or shine.

Visit Campus and Enjoy a Free Concert
Carillonneurs from around the U.S. will travel to Grand Valley this summer to fill the air around both campuses with music during the International Carillon Concert Series. Come enjoy music at this free, family-friendly event! Concerts take place on Sundays on the Allendale Campus and Wednesdays on the Pew Campus until August 19.

KCON Professor Spearheads $2.2 Million NIH Grant

Rebecca Davis, professor of nursing in the Kirkhof College of Nursing, spearheaded a $2.2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to conduct an intervention study over five years, testing if visual cues will help residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease effectively find their way.

GVSU Engineering Camp Featured First Female German Astronaut Candidate

Middle school girls got a glimpse into the careers of engineering during a four-day camp at Grand Valley. Campers met special guest Lisa Marie Haas, a physicist and engineer for Bosch, who is one of six finalists to become the first female German astronaut.

GVSU Finishes Second in Directors' Cup Standings

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced the final standings for the 2017-18 Division II Learfield Directors' Cup and Grand Valley finished second with 834.75 points. GVSU has finished either first or second in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings for 17 consecutive years, including 12 Directors' Cup titles.

Club Sports Highlight: Laker Shooters Compete in Meijer State Games of Michigan

Two members from Grand Valley's Rifle Club competed in the Meijer State Games of Michigan Precision Air Rifle match on June 21 at the Grand Rapids Rifle and Pistol Club. Christian Yap finished first overall and Collin Fox took second. The mission of the GVSU Rifle Club is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in shooting sports, with an emphasis in smallbore rifle and precision air rifle.

Arend D. & Nancy Lubbers - Enrichment Award Recipients 2018 Video

Grand Valley presented the 2018 Enrichment Award to President Emeritus Don & Nancy Lubbers in June, welcoming them into the Grand Valley Hall of Fame. They exemplify the Laker Effect. They have worked tirelessly as a team for decades to create positive change for GVSU and the West Michigan community.
