Dear Students,
As we prepare for Hurricane Francine’s arrival, I wanted to share some information and last-minute reminders.
First, please make sure that your devices are all charged and that you charge any back-up power supplies you may have. Tulane will continue to communicate with you through emergency alerts (texts) and email messages. Please pay attention to these messages. You may also get messages from the National Weather Service; please pay attention to these as well.
The Commons on the Uptown Campus will be open today until 4 p.m. Please plan to arrive by 2:30 p.m. for a meal. We will be monitoring the weather closely and want to make sure you have time to eat in case the weather conditions change. After the Commons closes, it will remain closed until an all-clear is issued and it is safe to move about the campus. We will communicate that information to you as well.
Until that all-clear is issued, you should plan to stay inside for your safety. Francine is projected to make land fall late this afternoon or early evening which means that conditions may become unsafe after this point until the storm has passed. Again, the TU Alerts will provide you with the most up-to-date information.
Remember that we are in a High Priority Period now. We need your cooperation and compliance with all Tulane policies and laws during this time as Tulane and City of New Orleans resources are focused on preparing and responding to Hurricane Francine.
Be safe and take care.
