Agape Animal Resuce Team Heads to Texas
For the last week we helplessly watched the devastation in Texas unfold after hurricane Harvey barreled through the state. Although Agape foster parents were full with dogs from our local shelters, we couldn't just stand by and do nothing. We sent out a plea for foster parents and were overwhelmed at the response we received. In only 48 hours YOU doubled our program capacity and now we are ON THE WAY TO Texas to aid in their rescue efforts in any way we can. We look forward to bringing as many of the dogs who were rushed to safety from flooded shelters back to Nashville. We will not bring any dogs back who have a chance at being reunited with families.
An anonymous donor and The Chalos Family have teamed up and are offering to match the first $2,500 donated to help us with this mission! We understand that many organizations are asking for support during this time of need and we appreciate you considering a donation to the Agape program!
Our first stop will be at Austin Pets Alive where more than 1,700 dogs are being cared for round the clock. We aim to arrive back to Nashville Tuesday late afternoon.
