Dear Jayhawk,
As part of our One KU initiative, we are working to align information technology systems across all our campuses, creating a more seamless experience for students, faculty and staff who study and work on multiple campuses. An important step is creating a more unified login process.
Beginning Sept. 10, faculty, staff and students on the KU Lawrence and Edwards campuses will enter their full KU Online ID email address when logging in to systems and applications that use KU’s Single Sign-On (SSO). This means that instead of using just your KU Online ID (e.g., j123h456 or jhawk), you’ll need to add @ku.edu to the end (j123h456@ku.edu or jhawk@ku.edu). You must log in with the email address that is composed of your KU Online ID + @ku.edu, even if you have a different custom email address (aka “alias”).
Using an email address has largely replaced custom usernames as a best practice. In fact, you probably already use an email address when logging in to most banks, social media, and other online systems and applications outside of KU.
|
- On Sept.10, remember to change how you enter your login information on the SSO page.
-
Instead of using just your KU Online ID (j123h456 or jhawk) to log in, use the full email address that includes your KU Online ID and @ku.edu (j123h456@ku.edu or jhawk@ku.edu).
- Continue using your current password.
|
We know login habits are hard to break, so we’ll send a reminder before the Sept. 10 transition and include information on the Single Sign-On page. If you experience any issues signing in, contact your IT Support team or the IT Help Desk (785.864.8080 or ithelpdesk@ku.edu) for assistance.
Thank you for helping us build a more secure IT environment, which will allow us to provide a consistent experience across KU’s campuses.
