Celebrate KU's 112th Homecoming Oct. 14 - 20
|
The KU Alumni Association invites faculty, staff and students to participate in KU's 112th Homecoming this week. This year’s weeklong celebration theme is “Jayhawks Through the Eras” welcoming Jayhawks of all generations back to the Hill for this rich tradition.
The full 2024 Homecoming schedule of activities, including community service opportunities, can be found on the KU Alumni Association's website.

| Employee Tuition Assistance Applications Are Open
|
The Spring 2025 Tuition Assistance Application closes Friday, Nov. 1, 2024. For questions about the program, email hrdept@ku.edu or visit the FAQ.
The Employee Tuition Assistance Program helps eligible employees cover tuition for up to 12 credit hours per calendar year. Eligible employees are faculty and staff with an appointment of 48% or greater to a regular position with at least six months of continuous KU service as of Feb. 1.

| Commemorate Indigenous Peoples’ Day with Public Events |
The KU Office of Sovereign Partnerships and Indigenous Initiatives (OSPII) will host Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration Week starting Oct. 16 at 10:30 a.m. by raising the tipi on the Strong Hall lawn. The KU Indigenous Studies Club will continue the celebrations with a Zine event at the tipi, beginning at 2 p.m. on Oct. 17. Everyone is invited to join the events.
Indigenous Peoples’ Day is celebrated annually on the second Monday of October. The day is a time to reflect on and honor the histories, culture and contributions of Native peoples. For more information, contact Lori Hasselman, director for Sovereign Partnerships and Indigenous Initiatives.

| Jayhawks Elevate Recognized with Best Practices Award |
Craig Alexander, senior director of Jayhawks Elevate, received the Best Practices Award on behalf of his team at the 2024 Central Association of College & University Business Officers (CACUBO) conference.
Jayhawks Elevate was recognized with the award for its unique approach to giving a voice to employees and creating a culture of continuous improvement at KU. Congratulations to Craig Alexander and everyone involved in Jayhawks Elevate!

IRISE Fellows Develop Plan for Values-Focused KU Culture
|
With the establishment of the IRISE fellowship, 12 KU faculty and staff members are working to develop and encourage a culture at the institution that reflects the IRISE values – integrity, respect, innovation, stewardship and excellence.
Faculty and staff of the inaugural cohort were nominated by peers and appointed by Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Barbara Bichelmeyer.

Welcome Students, Families on Crimson & Blue Day
|
Crimson and Blue Day is KU’s Open House for prospective students and their guests on Friday, Oct. 18. It is an opportunity for students to explore campus and build a schedule based on their interests.
The day features Student Ambassador-led walking tours, housing tours and a broad range of programs and information sessions. Thanks to all KU faculty, staff and students who help on this day. If you see a prospective student, please give them a warm welcome.

| Transition from ServiceNow to Team Dynamix (TDX) |
If you have used ServiceNow as a technician at KU, you will need to transition to the new Team Dynamix (TDX) platform. TDX will go live in early December and ServiceNow will be discontinued at the end of the year.
Campus IT Support Staff will receive direct emails about November training sessions. Training and resources for all other staff will be scheduled and shared separately at a later date. For more details about this transition, visit the KU IT Website.
