Southwestern Community,
In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that colleges and universities may no longer consider race as a factor in admissions, I want to reaffirm Southwestern University’s steadfast commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Southwestern does not use race as part of its admissions process, and we recruit students from areas we know will give us a strong, academically and athletically, talented class—students who are interested in a variety of majors and co-curricular activities. I am proud of the efforts of our enrollment services team in identifying talented students regardless of their race, orientation or religion.
A priority of our
Tactical Plan is to create and nurture a campus community that mirrors our society, as it is incumbent on all of us in higher education to engage students in a variety of ideas, viewpoints and cultures as we prepare them for success in a dynamic and diverse world.
To keep you informed of our progress on a variety of Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging and Equity (DIBE) initiatives, please visit our

Sincerely,
