It is with great excitement that CIA's Alumni Council announces the 2020 Alumni Exhibition. The show will run July 10 through August 14 in Reinberger Gallery at CIA. Submissions will be accepted March 1 through April 1, and all alumni are encouraged to apply. This year's exhibition committee consists of Lesyle Arian '76, Mary Urbas '80, Steven Mastroianni '88, Deborah Pinter '88, Teresa Carlisle '06, and Kimberly Chapman '17. | Connect the teen artist in your life to Pre-College

Who is the rising high school sophomore, junior, or senior in your life looking to explore new media, sharpen their art and design skills, and build a portfolio? CIA’s Pre-College program is an opportunity for high school students to live on CIA’s campus and experience life as an art student for two or four weeks. They’ll spend dedicated hours focusing on the subject of their choice, taught by accomplished faculty, while they earn college credit. Priority deadline applications are due February 15. Schreckengost award call for nominations

The Schreckengost Teaching Award Committee invites alumni, board members, faculty, staff and friends of CIA to nominate candidates for the 2020 Viktor Schreckengost Teaching Award. This award is presented to a current or former CIA faculty member in recognition of teaching excellence at the College over a period of at least 10 years.
Nominations should be accompanied by a brief rationale and/or testimonial in support of the nominee, describing his/her critical effect on the nominator’s professional life or on the lives of the students in their charge. Please note: Nominations from previous years are considered each year. Please fill out this nomination form or forward your nomination letter to Erin Duhigg, Office of Academic Affairs, by February 20.

David Rankin ’67 has work in In the Audubon Tradition, a show that celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History & Science through the work of 80 wildlife artists. The show is on view at the Cincinnati Museum Center through January 5.

Susan Weir-Ancker '85 will have work on view in Flights of Fancy: Exploits of Winged Scholars, a solo exhibition of her ceramic sculptures and drawings at the Malkerson Gallery 408 in Carrizozo, New Mexico.

Shoko Yamamura '08 has been selected as a resident artist for the Chishima Foundation for Creative Osaka and Villa Kujoyama's 2020 Residence Program in Paris. She will be staying at Cité internationale des arts from January to April to implement a research project dealing with unwanted garments from people she meets in Paris.

Kimberly Chapman '17 will have work on view in a solo exhibition, hush, at the McDonough Museum of Art at Youngstown State University. The show explores issues including silencing women, school shootings, domestic violence, and the refugee crisis. It is on view from January 24 to March 7.

Leah Trznadel '19 will show photography work along with Emily Flory '19 and Carolina Kane '19 in {artifact} at the Ann and Norman Roulet Student + Alumni Gallery at CIA from January 17 to February 14.

- Case Western Reserve University is seeking a creative and content design manager to produce content for the Center for Clinical Investigation’s community health programs and its audiences.
- The Foundation for Contemporary Arts offers emergency grants between $200 and $2,500 for visual and performing artists. The applications are reviewed once a month, so artists can quickly take advantage of momentum or solve any budget errors for sudden projects or opportunities. Learn more.
- Franconia Sculpture Park is seeking applicants for its 2020 fellowship artist residency program. Artists working is sculpture, installation, land art, social practice and performance are welcome to apply for residencies by January 15.
