It’s hard to believe summer is almost over! On campus everyone is working hard to prepare for all of our students to move back on campus for the fall semester. I want to give a shoutout to our Student Life team! This team works tirelessly to provide activities and opportunities to promote social, spiritual and mental well being. So many exciting things are planned for the year, and we appreciate all they do!  

Thank you to those who have attended our Summer Send-Off events to welcome new families to the Bison Herd. It’s been a wonderful summer being able to connect with so many across the United States. New students will be moving in on Aug. 12-13. If you are a local family and would like to join the parent engagement team in welcoming new families to campus, check out the details and sign up below. Also, we have one last summer prayer Zoom; please join us as we pray over our families preparing for the new school year. I look forward to seeing you back on campus soon!

SUMMER SEND-OFFS
Three final Summer Send-Offs are coming up before classes start in August. Hosted by the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement, the send-offs are great opportunities to bring our Lipscomb families and alumni together to welcome our newest Bisons. We hope you will register and join us for an evening of food, fun and fellowship with the Bison Herd. Lipscomb Night at Huntsville City FC on July 27
Join your fellow Bisons on July 27 in Huntsville, Alabama, for a fabulous night of soccer and watch Huntsville City FC host Atlanta United 2 from the Hospitality Suite at Joe Davis Stadium!
It's also Space Night, so you can enjoy space elements incorporated around the park and some in-game experiences. Price includes your seat and meal in the Hospitality Suite. The value of this package is $80! Purchase tickets.

FALL MOVE-IN
Volunteers needed! Lipscomb freshmen and transfer students will be moving into the dorms on Monday, Aug. 12 and Tuesday, Aug. 13. The Office of Alumni & Parent Engagement will have welcome areas set up at High Rise and on the side porch of Bennett Campus Center. 
We are looking for local parents to volunteer at the welcome area tents to meet and greet families as they start their Lipscomb experience. If you are interested in volunteering, click here to sign up!

The Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement and Student Life are hosting a Nashville Trolley Tour experience on Aug. 13. This is a great opportunity for new-to-Nashville families to enjoy all the sights and sounds of Nashville. Register

REGISTRAR’S OFFICE
FERPA Release. All students 18 or older must complete a FERPA Release if they want to permit Lipscomb to disclose any financial or academic information about the student to a parent. The parent must specifically be added to the FERPA Release. Download a PDF to learn more about the FERPA Release process and more information from the registrar's office.

FINANCIAL AID
Private Student Loans. Did you know the U.S. Department of Education offers parent loans, too? A parent (or in some cases, the step-parent) of an undergraduate student can borrow at federal rates to help fund their student's education. Parent PLUS loans are typically lower rates and fees than charged by private banks or lenders. A credit check is required, but most parents can qualify for all the funds they need. Check out the full details and apply at studentaid.gov/understand-aid.

During Spring 2024, Bison Cafe opened a dedicated space in Bison Cafe specifically for students with gluten and celiac allergies. Download a PDF to learn more about the options.

Save the Date: November 7-9
Bisons Weekend is a weekend full of fun and tradition! Current parents, siblings, grandparents and friends can visit their favorite student and meet their student’s friends, fellow parents, faculty and alumni. Alumni and their families can revisit favorite campus spots while reconnecting with friends, faculty and staff. And all can participate in the weekend’s festivities that bring the entire Lipscomb community together.
