Finals Prep: Start with a Study Plan!
|
-
Assess Your Priorities: Identify which subjects need the most attention and plan to give them more time.
- Set Daily Goals: Break up material into smaller chunks, focusing on specific topics each day rather than cramming.
- Use Active Study Techniques: Practice retrieval (quizzing yourself) rather than passive review. Use flashcards, summaries, and practice exams to strengthen recall.
- Mix It Up: Avoid studying a single subject for long periods. Rotate between topics to improve retention and keep your mind fresh.
- Take Care of Yourself: Plan breaks, get enough sleep, and eat well to keep your energy up.
|
Starting early and planning ahead can make all the difference!
|
Remember that we are stronger together. Please take care of yourself and each other.

| Tip of the week from Dean Majid Whitney, Associate Vice President and Dean of Campus Inclusion and Community
|
- When considering the impact that we aspire to have as servant leaders in a global society, we must “think globally, and act locally”, being a consistent example of the positive change, we wish to create and inspire in the world.
- ‘Our growth begins where our comfort ends…but to achieve this we cannot simply step out of our comfort zones; rather, we must expand them.’
-
Stephen Covey famously stated, “strength lies in our differences, not our similarities.” I believe in order to become the best versions of ourselves, it is imperative that we are open to learning from the richness of diverse experiences from others, or else we miss those small transformational moments that can change the scope of our existence. “A teachable moment, absent a willingness to learn, is just a moment.”

In the Office of Campus Inclusion and Community (OCIC), our team aims to foster a supportive, diverse, and equitable campus environment that provides a premier student experience, promotes student success, and advances goals 3 and 4 of Seton Hall University’s strategic plan. As the home to several highly regarded college access and support programs such as the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), the Pre-Medical Pre-Dental Plus Program (PMPDPP), RISE Gen1, and the R.I.S.E TRIO Student Support Services Program, the OCIC provides opportunities for historically underrepresented, and financially and educationally disadvantaged students, to pursue and attain postsecondary education, progress toward a prominent career, and become agents of change in the world of tomorrow.

“Helped me get through these four years and allowed me a safe space to go to. Also helped me to make friends and realize I’m not so alone.” - RISE-SSS Student
|
“EOP means hope. A place where dreams become reality with a supporting staff and student body. A home away from home.” - EOP Student
|
“I recently had [CIC] come present the Anti- Racism training along with information about Black history. [THEY WERE] AMAZING. Our [students] liked how it wasn’t just a lecture and that they were able to ask questions and feel vulnerable. They felt like they really learned a lot. We are so lucky to have [CIC] on campus. Thank you!” – Campus Partner
