Join the final meetings of our Community of Practice: Designing for Student Learning in the Age of AI. Across these two sessions, this semester’s cohort of faculty will share creative assignments they’ve developed to be responsive to emerging AI technologies. Then, presenters and participants will have a larger conversation about teaching and learning in the age of AI. Feel free to join one or both sessions. Different assignments will be presented at each meeting.

The CTE is offering two book groups this semester. Discuss timely topics with other GW educators and receive a hard copy of the book if you commit to attending all three meetings!

Are you looking for ideas to help your students care about upholding academic integrity and learning? This book group will discuss how we can promote classroom integrity through course design, assignments, and classroom strategies in the age of generative AI.

Research Showcase: Wednesday, April 15, 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

The CCAS Research Showcase provides an opportunity for all graduate and undergraduate students and all postdocs in CCAS programs to present their research and scholarship in a poster session. Everyone from CCAS—students, postdocs, staff, and faculty alike—is encouraged to come to the Showcase in the third-floor ballrooms of the University Student Center to learn about the fascinating and impactful work of our excellent students and postdocs and their research mentors. CDI is an intensive one-week program that helps you design, redesign, or tweak your course with the guidance of expert GW facilitators. $500 stipends are available for most participants upon successful completion of all program elements. CDI is open to all GW faculty, including adjunct and part-time faculty, and we are now accepting applications. 

Dates: May 18–22, 2026

Location: CDI: May will be fully online. There will be an option to attend in person on Wednesday, with lunch, on the Foggy Bottom campus.

In addition to our full CDI, we offer CDI+, “add-on” cohorts designed to help CDI participants and alumni build on the foundation of CDI to explore specific transformative practices in more depth.
