Tennesseans for the Arts presents Arts Advocacy Day 2017 on March 1 at the Nashville Public Library in Nashville, TN. Registration is open for TFTA members and non-members. Registration rates increase on January 15, so register now for the best rate! Join us for Arts Advocacy Day to learn how the arts are funded in Tennessee, how to use your own story as an advocacy tool, and meet your state legislators!

Will your Organization be Recognized at Arts Advocacy Day?
100% Advocacy
Member organizations that also have 100% of board OR 100% of staff who are members will be recognized at Arts Advocacy Day with a special announcement! 100% Advocacy Organizations also receive a certificate that can be included in grant applications or other requests for funding to show exemplary organizational advocacy. Will your organization be recognized among your peers on Arts Advocacy Day 2017? Get those memberships in before February 1, 2017 to be eligible for recognition on March 1 and email us at info@tn4arts.org to let us know that your organization is a 100% Advocacy Organization.
Arts Impact Stories
How have the arts impacted you, your organization, or your community?  TFTA wants to share your story! Submit a short (preferably 2-5 minutes) video to info@tn4arts.org. Arts Impact Stories that are submitted to TFTA by January 1 will be featured at Arts Advocacy Day 2017! Need help telling your story? See the Storytelling Toolkit that our friends at the International Storytelling Center produced and let’s hear how the arts impact Tennesseans and their communities!

Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts
The recent wildfires in Gatlinburg unfortunately destroyed three of Arrowmont's buildings--two dormitories and a maintenance building. Fortunately, the staff was able to evacuate and all are reported to have been safe from the fires. TN Arts Commission
TADI Applications Now Open

The Targeted Arts Development Initiative (TADI) is a strategy developed to reach out to those counties which have been identified by the Tennessee Arts Commission as being under-represented in Commission investments. TADI is designed to leverage investments & develop leadership potential, while encouraging applications from the identified rural and/or distressed counties to existing Commission grant categories or programs. David Crockett Bust Unveiled at TN State Capitol

A bust of legendary Tennessean David Crockett was unveiled on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris (R-Collierville) and former House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick (R-Chattanooga) sponsored Senate Joint Resolution 505 in 2014 to place the bust on the second floor of the State Capitol Building, outside the House of Representatives Chamber across from the bust of Andrew Johnson.
