**Be Safe Together Update**

We recently gathered virtually for two instructor town hall meetings. Thank you to everyone who participated and asked thoughtful questions. We will continue to share updates and guidelines for the season ahead through this newsletter format and through our pre-season training. We know you may still have questions about the winter and Vail Resorts has published frequently asked questions for employees to check before you return to work. You can read the FAQs here, which will be updated over the coming weeks. You can also read the Vail Resorts Commitment to Employees for more information about how safety is being prioritized this year more than ever. We are also preparing an Okemo Ski + Ride FAQs section of our website to share with you soon.

To help us continue to prepare for winter, we look forward to receiving your commitment calendars for the 2020-21 season. The calendars are broken down below by employment status. For those of you who anticipate clients booking private lessons with you in advance of this season, it is imperative that you fill out your form as soon as possible to ensure your clients' requests are met.

Proper Use of Buffs in the Workplace

Teams across our enterprise have been creating and revising standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding all areas of our winter return to work plans. This winter, one guideline that will be important to us, as instructors, is proper buff use. Buffs are approved as face coverings when worn properly. Creating an Inclusive Community

Taking actionable steps toward creating an inclusive outdoor recreation community is one of our top priorities at Okemo and throughout Vail Resorts. One step Vail Resorts is taking is expanding POWDER (Providing Opportunity for Women Through Diversity, Equality, and Respect) to be more inclusive. Stay tuned for updates to POWDER soon.

We are continuing our conversations as a team to understand the barriers that exist to making our resort and the outdoor recreation industry a welcoming community. As we learn and grow together, Vail Resorts and Okemo encourage employees to explore inclusive diversity in the industry through shared resources and conversations. Ibram X. Advancing Our Sustainability Goals

Vail Resorts is expanding our longstanding partnership with PepsiCo to help achieve our Commitment to Zero. Together, we will focus on waste reduction at our resorts, including reducing food and beverage packaging waste and replacing wax-lined paper cups with compostable or durable PepsiCo products. We’ll also be partnering on guest education and upcycling projects – including picnic tables made of recycled snack wrappers.

Maintaining Your Uniform

Throughout the season, dirt, sweat, and oil can all reduce the effectiveness of the exterior water repellency, causing the outside of the jacket to absorb water. “Wetting out” reduces breathability, comfort, and performance, and can make the jacket feel cold or damp. Proper washing will remove stains and restore the garment. By restoring the waterproofing with a wash-in treatment, you will always be ready for the elements.

As employees, it is important for us to keep our uniforms clean and functional. Please properly wash your uniform to maintain our standards of quality and appearance. Before we begin our winter season, we will provide employees with Nikwax Tech Wash and TX.Direct individual packets. Your uniforms can be laundered in a residential washing machine. After washing your uniform, you can apply the provided waterproofing products.
