• Congratulations to Samuel Boghossian '23 for being selected as a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship. "Competing as a US Rhodes finalist — preparing at the highest levels to debate, discuss, dream and act with others — is a great honor and a rare achievement. It takes courage and a commitment to higher ideals, no matter the outcome," said Director of Global Awards and Scholarships Anna Kendrick. "We are immensely proud of Sam and all our seniors and alumni who dare to walk this road." Boghossian is NYU Shanghai's first American Rhodes finalist. Previously NYU Shanghai students from China, New Zealand, and Israel have been finalists for the prestigious scholarship.

• Interactive Media Arts Assistant Arts Professor Gottfried Haider spoke as an invited panelist at the 2023 ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair, one of Shanghai's flagship art fairs. Hosted by Design Innovation Institute Shanghai and titled "The Vanishing Frame: Art in the Age of AI," the roundtable discussion drew together artists and creators navigating the evolving relationship between art and technology in their distinct ways. Haider shared insights as a practicing artist, an educator and as instructor for IMA's Machine Learning for Artists and Designers course.
