A Message from the Division of Student Life

Greetings,
Universities hold, at their core, the concept of academic freedom. The freedom to explore significant and controversial questions is an important necessity to fulfill the universities mission of excellence in teaching and discovery at the University of Oregon. In this election year, there has been continued discussion on controversial topics and with election day tomorrow, many people may be engaged in continued discourse around election outcomes.
As you engage with each other around election outcomes, please remember that at the UO we take care of each other. We respect and value the beliefs of each of our community members. We engage in healthy discussions. And no matter which way elections go, we must come together as a community in order to continue to uphold the integrity and the mission of this university.
There are support resources available to students who may need assistance during this emotion-filled time:
Thank you for being a respectful and engaged member of the UO community.
Sincerely,
Kris
