Authors In Apalach March 14
The Apalachicola Municipal Library will host the 2015 Authors in Apalach event on Saturday, March 14, at the Apalachicola Center for History, Culture and Art. This year’s event theme is “Contemporary Women Writers of the South” and will feature celebrated authors including Janis Owens, author of classic Southern Fiction and the “Cracker Kitchen,” and River Jordan, playwright, memoirist and radio personality. 
The event will be from 10AM to 5PM, with authors signing and selling books, and forums on different topics throughout the day. There will be an afternoon forum on cookbook and food writing which should be tasty. Click here for more information. Click here to watch a video about the event.
Apalachicola Artwalk March 21
Art in all forms will be woven in and around picturesque downtown Apalachicola on March 21 during the annual artwalk event where artists and musicians will be showing, selling, and demonstrating their talents from 11:00-6:00 pm.  The festivities continue into the evening with a wine tasting at 3:00 pm.  Afterwards area chefs will prepare dishes at their restaurants pared with special wines. See it, Say it, Paint it with Katie Dobson Cundif March 9-12, 9-4pm. Learn to paint faster, looser, and more confidently in this four day workshop while learning to accurately see larger abstract shapes, values, and color. Daily Demos-Discussions-Individual Painting Time-One on One Critiques. 
Painting the Head in Oil with Dawn Whitelaw March 15-18, 9-4pm. In this 4 day workshop, Dawn will be teaching basic principals of portraiture. This class will include lecture, power point presentations, demonstration, and critiques. There will be lots of individual help at easels as the student starts three portrait studies.

FSU Lab Hosts Shark Talk March 12
Dr. Jose Castro will present a talk on sharks at 7 pm March 12 at the FSU Marine Lab at Turkey Point. Dr. Castro's talk will focus on all aspects of a shark's reproductive biology. On April 25, the FSU Marine Lab will host an Open House from 10 am to 3 pm. SGI Charity Chili Cookoff March 7
St. George Island will host its annual Charity Chili Cookoff and Auction March 7. Activities include a golf tournament, 5K Red Pepper Run, Chili Cook-off, Auction and the naming of Miss Chili Pepper and Mr. Hot Sauce. The Annual Eastpoint Volunteer Fire Department Charity Rib Cookoff will be held Saturday, March 21th at the fire house in Eastpoint, Florida at Vroom Park. Lighthouse Climb
The St. George Lighthouse will host a full moon climb March 5 from 6-7:30 pm. Climb to the top of the Cape St. George Light to watch the sunset and the rise of the full moon. The Sunset/Full Moon Climb includes light hors d'oeuvres and a sparkling cider toast to the full moon.  Cost is $15.00 for the general public and $10.00 for members of the St. George Lighthouse Association. Friday, March 20. 5-7 p.m.
Come out to St. George Island State Park for a demonstration of cast iron cooking and learn a few new recipes to cook on an open fire. 
Working Apalachicola Bay Saturday, March 21.1 p.m. Join us for an exciting talk about the local seafood industry.

Carrabelle Hosts First People March 14
In celebration of March being Archaeology Month in Florida, the Carrabelle History Museum and Historical Society are hosting the program: “The First People of the Forgotten Coast “on Saturday, March 14th.
