BYM Quaker Camps are vibrant, diverse, and youth-centered communities that welcome families with open arms. Join BYM Quaker Camps community for a joyful weekend of connection, reflection, and family fun in nature - next Friday - Sunday, September 25-27! Family camp includes all the best of summer camp - games, campfire, lots of singing, and community meals, for families to enjoy together. Family Camp is for families of all shapes and sizes - young, old, many kids, or none at all! Registration is requested by Wed, Sept 23rd.

Chesapeake Quarter Meets Sept 27 at Deer Creek |
Chesapeake Quarter will meet on September 27 at Deer Creek Meeting. This quarter's meeting will include the special program "Members One of Another: What Connects Us Within and Across our Meetings." Chesapeake Quarter includes Friends from Annapolis, Stony Run, Gunpowder, Homewood Friends Meeting; Little Falls, Patapsco, Patuxent, and Sandy Spring Friends Meetings, but all Friends are welcome to attend.

Sandy Spring Seeks Religious Education Coordinator |
Sandy Spring seeks an active, engaged, and dynamic person to serve as our Religious Education Coordinator. The RE Committee is accepting and reviewing applicants through December 1, 2026, with interviews in January and a projected start date in early April. Knowledge of Quakerism, especially its testimonies (equality, peace, integrity, etc.) and/or a willingness to learn Quaker faith & practice is highly prized. Familiarity or experience with teaching and working with children is preferred.

Homewood Hosts Baltimore Sings for Justice, Oct 11 |
From civil rights and labor organizing to the Singing Resistance movement that began in Minnesota, song for protest has a long history, helping us persist in our resistance, breathe and relax, and stay calm and non-violent—but determined. We are planning 1 ½ hours of singing together at Homewood Friends Meeting. This is not a performance but rather a way to be together in song and solidarity. 6-8 different local song leaders will teach and lead all who are gathered in songs, some familiar and some new. Everyone is welcome, from novice to professional. A reception will follow the singing.

Sandy Spring Community Embroidery Project |
Sandy Spring Friends Meeting invites you to join the Sandy Spring in Stitches community embroidery project! Inspired by the Quaker Tapestry Project from Kendall, England, we’re gathering community members of all ages to create a celebration of Sandy Spring history and its Quaker roots through crewel embroidery. Crewel is an ancient surface embroidery method using wool yarn to create a thick, textured, three-dimensional look. We hope you’ll join us as we build community, learn about our rich shared heritage, and create something beautiful for ourselves and future generations.

The BYM Development Committee invites Friends to a special webinar with Everence Financial on making your wishes known on Oct 13 at 12:00pm. Whether considering advance directives, powers of attorney, wills, beneficiary designations, or conversations with loved ones, thoughtful planning can help ensure that your wishes are understood and respected. This workshop will explore practical steps that can reduce uncertainty
for family members and help important decisions reflect the values that
matter most to you. Even if your plans are already in place, you will leave with useful resources, important questions to consider and practical next steps. This session is
designed for adults of all ages because it’s never too early to start planning
for the future.
