NEWS FROM THE NINTH WARD
It was an honor to stand with the Latinx LGBTQ community and march with the #RecordamosOrlando contingent at the beginning of the 2016 PRIDE parade. I carried the name of Simon Adrian Carrillo Fernandez, age 31, killed in the Orlando massacre. We remember.

Dear Neighbors,
This week over 20,000 signatures supporting a $15 per hour city-wide minimum wage were delivered to City Hall escorted by marchers, drumming and dancing. A $15 per hour city-wide minimum wage will alleviate our city’s worst-in-the-nation racial wealth disparities and improve the lives of thousands upon thousands of Latino and African American families.
Minneapolis’ moral compass is unflinchingly pointing towards raising the wage to help residents keep up with basic bills and their monthly rent. What’s good for the working families of our city makes our businesses and local economy strong. I look forward to voting yes on approving the $15 per hour minimum wage language to place it on the November ballot, thereby allowing the people of Minneapolis to lead the way on this important economic justice effort.

Follow the charter amendment process on the City's website and I hope we can earn your support on this initiative,
