Professor of Physics Andy Rex has published a new edition of Finn's Thermal Physics (CRC Press, 2024), a concise and easy-to-understand introduction to the study of thermodynamics. The fourth edition, which Rex co-wrote, incorporates statistical mechanics, includes more examples, and updates sections on topics like superconductivity, magnetism, Bose-Einstein condensation, and climate change.

In her role as chief information security officer for Unilever, Kirsten Davies '92 spoke on a "Women in Cyber" panel at RSA Conference 2024, an annual event that brings together IT professionals to discuss emerging issues. Cybersecurity is "a top five enterprise risk in any industry," said Davies. "If not, they have their heads in the ground."

The Tacoma Sports Museum produced a moving tribute to former Puget Sound Athletic Director Doug MacArthur ’53, who died in December 2023 at age 94. The retrospective film was screened on campus during Summer Reunion Weekend at the annual Sigma Nu luncheon. Sigma Nu alumni and guests at the event included many faces from Logger sports history including Joe Stortini ’55; Don Pulisevich ’68; Zeke Schultz ’68; Mike Sienkiewich ’68; Dennis Brennan ’69; Ed Horne ’70; Bob Hunt ’70; Lynn Raisl ’77, P’13; Ed Raisl ’78, P’13; and Mike Lindberg ’79.
