Get Food Smart TN
The Music City Center is proud to be an inaugural participant of the newly debuted Get Food Smart TN. This statewide, voluntary program from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s Office of Policy and Sustainable Practices recognizes those who are committed to food conscious actions. The goal of the campaign is to encourage all Tennesseans to be involved in reducing food waste, and to lead the charge on enhancing the sustainability of Tennessee’s food resources. We are excited to be a part of this campaign and to encourage other entities to engage in food waste reduction, recovery, and/or diversion.
Earth Week
The Music City Center staff recently celebrated our planet with Earth Week, a week-long set of activities to engage in sustainability practices. Every day of the week had a different theme with a corresponding trivia contest, workplace activity, and prize. Each morning, the day’s theme, topics to think about, activities, and trivia question were sent out in an email and posted to a back-of-house bulletin board in order to encourage staff to incorporate sustainability in their personal lifestyle. The themes of the week were reuse, recycling, transportation, food waste, and conservation.
