TMI welcomes Fred Kountz, beginning July 1, as the new Dean of Faculty. Fred brings 14 years of experience to TMI as an Independent School teacher and administrator. In addition to his time in education, Fred served in the United States Army (Reserve Components) for nearly six years, with three of those years as an officer in a Reconnaissance Troop.
Fred comes to TMI after nine years at the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA, where he was a history teacher, grade dean, and Upper School Dean of Students. Prior to Baldwin, Fred spent four years at St. Andrew's Episcopal School in nearby Austin. Fred holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in history from City University of New York–Brooklyn College and will begin a doctoral program in Educational Leadership at the Virginia Theological Seminary next April. He is joined by his wife, Anne-Victoire Bonnamour, and their three children Romy (10), Joseph (8), and Sacha (4).
