The Department of English and Creative Writing partnered with the Tulsa Artist Fellowship to welcome four TAF participants as adjunct faculty. During 2022-23, Kaveh Bassiri, George Henson, Quraysh Ali Lansana and J. Preston Witt will teach Introduction to Creative Writing and upper-level courses drawing on their areas of expertise. In Lansana's Writing on Greenwood, for example, students will write poetry, nonfiction and children's literature.

The law's in her court

But the new friends, novel experiences, supportive professors and burgeoning self-confidence that grew out of that experience – followed by an impactful summer externship to combat human trafficking – convinced Dalisha Kirk (2L) that a legal career is the ideal way to act on her commitment to effecting positive social change.

America's next cyber warriors

The University of Tulsa's elite Cyber Corps program has received approval for a $6.3 million National Science Foundation grant to support about 80 computer science and engineering graduate students who will protect America's cyberspace. "I am humbled by the magnitude of this NSF grant and the impact our cyber warrior graduates will have," said TU's Cyber Corps Director Sujeet Shenoi, professor of computer science and chemical engineering.

At home with the sopranos

The University of Tulsa School of Music recently entered into a novel partnership with Montereau. In exchange for room and board, two TU music students – sopranos Madyson Mitchell and Jordan Demetriades – are residing at Tulsa's premier not-for-profit retirement community, where they will interact with residents, perform concerts and conduct open practices throughout the year.
