COVID-19 Closure Community Update: Thursday, March 19
To combat the spread of coronavirus in our community, Hamilton County Schools closed schools beginning Monday, March 16. This closure is an unprecedented situation for our district, and we know there are a lot of questions and support needed during this time. We will send out regular communications to the community with information and resources to help make this transition as smooth as possible for families.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. We are Hamilton!

Student Meal Delivery

Beginning Monday, March 23, bus drivers will deliver meals to students in need. Here are the details:
  • The schedule will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of every week. The packages will include enough food to cover the days the buses are not making deliveries.
  • The buses will run the elementary school bus routes. To find the stop closest to you, use our Bus Stop Finder.
  • The buses will begin running the routes at 11 a.m. Unfortunately, we do not have the exact times the buses will be at the stops at this point. We anticipate being able to provide better time windows once we start the delivery schedule. Thank you for your patience.
  • All meals are provided free to children up to age 18. Families do not need to provide proof of school enrollment, income, or free/reduced lunch eligibility. Children must be present to receive the meals.

HCS Continued Learning TV Broadcast

Every Monday night Dr. Johnson, along with other district officials, will host an HCS Continued Learning live broadcast on WTCI to share information and answer questions during the school closure. Tune in at 8 p.m.!

Student Device Pickup

The district has consolidated devices that aren't currently being used available for loan to students who need one. Starting today, there will be school sites throughout the district where families can pick up a device to use during the time schools are closed. Students do not have to attend the school where they are getting the device. The limit is two devices per household, and students need to be present when picking up the device.
