June 21, 2021
Dear Colleagues:
Last week, we shared our plans to make additions and changes to our employee COVID-19 vaccination incentive program. Today, we’re excited to update you with details.
Our vaccination incentive program continues to be open to all full- and part-time employees. Temporary, casual, and student employees are not eligible. To qualify for the University’s incentives, employees should:
- Receive both Pfizer or Moderna vaccinations or the single Johnson & Johnson vaccination before August 1, 2021; and
- Complete this form and indicate that you are fully vaccinated by August 31, 2021. Employees are no longer required to upload a copy of their COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card to be eligible for the incentive program. Simply check the box to verify you are fully vaccinated.
Employees who follow these steps — or who have previously been approved for the vaccination incentive program — are now eligible for the following new benefits:
Beginning this week and through August 4, 2021, four employees per week who have been vaccinated will randomly be selected to receive one of the following:
- One $100 bookstore voucher
- One $100 Tech Store voucher
- One $200 general parking permit
- $100 in cash at our dining facilities
Additionally, for the drawing on July 7, 2021, we will offer three more one-time incentives in addition to those listed above that include the following for vaccinated employees:
- One all-access parking permit (valued at $650)
- One garage parking permit (valued at $469)
- A culinary class with Jason Reynolds, assistant director for University Catering
On August 4, 2021, we will offer three more one-time incentives in addition to those listed above for three vaccinated employees who will each win $500 in Tech Store vouchers.
Beginning this Wednesday through August 4, 2021, we will conduct live drawings to select the winners for the new incentives. You can watch our drawings each Wednesday by visiting bsu.edu/live. Winners will also be notified via e-mail.
These new incentives are being offered in addition to one of the two original vaccination benefits, which include:
- A one-time $100 credit off your portion of the healthcare premium, similar to the credit for non-smokers; or
- Four additional hours of paid leave, which, per Internal Revenue Service rules governing pre-tax incentives, must be used by December 31, 2021. If you are enrolled in our healthcare plan and elect the paid leave, those four hours must be used after all accrued vacation/PTO and sick leave balances are exhausted.
We are making significant progress in our mission of substantially increasing the number of fully vaccinated people who are teaching, working, learning, socializing, and living on our campus. We are grateful to our campus community for enabling us to fulfill our mission to our students.
Sincerely,
