Stavros Didakis’ Advanced Lab: Synthetic Media course, whose project "Weird Creatures" received an Honorary Mention at
Ars Electronica Festival 2024, a groundbreaking festival for art, technology and society in Linz, Austria, attended by 112,000 visitors over five days. The students’ project was selected from among 285 projects from 42 top universities around the world. NYU Shanghai’s exhibition space was visited by approximately 3,500 people.

• On September 21, Assistant Arts Professor of IMA
Gottfried Haider and co-artist Zhang Jie unveiled their latest exhibition at the
Chronus Art Center, China's first nonprofit focused on media art. Titled “LLMscape: A Technolinguistic Exploration of Climate Narratives,” the installation will be on view at Shanghai’s M50 Contemporary Art District until October 20. The project has received kind support from the Center for AI and Culture and the
Shanghai Frontiers Science Center of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning.
