Highlighted Topics: A Centralized and Simple Resource to Learn About Research Areas of Interest to NIH
NIH announces a new centralized and simplified resource, called NIH Highlighted Topics, that informs the research community about particular areas of science of interest to NIH. Visiting this resource early and often when conceptualizing your research ideas will help ensure you are aware of some of NIH’s latest scientific interests. It also aims to help facilitate innovation and discovery through a strong focus on more investigator initiated driven research.

The RCMAR 2026 Annual Meeting was held June 29-30, 2026 at the National Institute on Aging (NIA) facilities in Rockville, Maryland. The event gathered over 100 people representing all 17 RCMAR Centers. Participants presented scientific advances in social, behavioral, psychological, and economic research studies on aging, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and AD-related dementias (ADRD), and health disparities among older adults. The meeting also provided valuable opportunities for RCMAR investigators, directors, faculty, mentors, and program managers to network and collaborate across the RCMAR community, as well as to engage with NIA staff.

NACC's First CLARiTI Data Freeze
We are excited to announce the successful completion of the June 1, 2026 CLARiTI data freeze, with 756 participants now included in the dataset. This milestone represents the tremendous effort of site teams, clinicians, coordinators, and data management staff across the consortium to recruit participants, complete study procedures, and ensure high-quality data. In addition to participant data, a total of 364 amyloid PET scans, 161 MRI scans, and 311 tau PET scans collected through CLARiTI have been processed by SCAN and are included in the first (June 2026) NACC data release.
Combined with the concurrent UDS data freeze, CLARiTI data are now available to researchers through the June 2026 Quick Access File. Researchers can follow the NACC Data Request Process to access the datasets.
