Walking tends to be underrated when it's placed next to high-profile workouts such as HIIT, pilates, zumba, circuit training, etc. They say the best workout is one that you can consistently do and with very few financial barriers or needed skills, walking can be a great way to get the physical activity needed to obtain certain health benefits. 

As we gear up for the return to campus on June 1st, Be Well wants to remind employees of our campus walking routes! We have seven district routes and thirty-three building routes varying from a half mile to two miles in length. Whether you are looking for a shorter distance to cover for a fifteen minute brain break or are using your lunch hour to get outside, click here to find a convenient route for you!

As temperatures begin to rise in anticipation of summer, we want to highlight a healthy meal option that is sure to keep you nourished and cool all season long!  Who said hearty soups are only for winter? This month we are talking all about cold soups and why you should consider giving this nutrient dense meal a try on a hot summer day. 

Similar to warm soups, cold soups are just as efficient at giving you the most bang for your buck in regards to nutrition. Not only are they delicious, but it is easy to get 2-3 servings of vegetables in one serving. In addition, cold soup is loaded with fiber which will help keep you fuller for longer. When cold soups are made almost entirely from fruits and/or vegetables each serving is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidents which are great for overall health. 

Whether you have an overflowing vegetable garden with more produce than you know what to do with or you just want to get creative with some of your favorite summer foods, cold soups are a must! Check out the list of delicious cold soups below and give one (or more) a try: 

Our friends at Rigazzi Wellness are launching a self-guided virtual series called "May You Be at Ease". This series will take participants on a journey of self exploration that includes a drawing flow, guided mindfulness meditations, and a yin yoga sequence to practice cultivating a rhytm and presence that can be applied to every day life.
