Vote for Longwood
During A Longwood Christmas, we’re honored to share with you a dazzling display of more than a half-million twinkling lights … and we’re also honored to be nominated by 10Best/USA Today for 2021 Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights again this year! Help us hold onto our 2018, 2019, and 2020 Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights running title by voting daily for A Longwood Christmas. You can vote once per day until polls close on Monday, December 6 at noon ET. The 10 winning gardens will be announced on 10Best on Friday, December 17.
'Tis the Season for Learning
The holiday season brings with it a fun, engaging selection of new online courses. Whether you’re looking to try your hand at creating holiday centerpieces to elegant garlands to festive cocktails (and much more!), there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Among our new classes this season, join artist Carol Gangemi online for The Artist Dives into the Archives: Cyclamen on Wednesday, December 1 from 1–3:30 pm as she dives into Longwood’s archives and retrieves a cyclamen image to demonstrate watercolor technique. Follow along at home and paint your own cyclamen in the style of early botanical illustrators, just in time for the holiday season.
Get the Most Out of Your Membership
Members are invited to join Longwood staff on November 13 at 10:30 am or 12 pm and December 4 at 12 pm for an in-person introduction to our Gardens and discover all your Membership has to offer. Learn more about your Member benefits, visiting tips, and the history of Longwood. Afterward, enjoy a fun Gardens tour! The orientation will be held in the Gardens in the Visitor Center Auditorium (through The Garden Shop).
 And the Winner is …
After tough match-ups and many votes, we are excited to crown your favorite chrysanthemum form from the 2021 Chrysanthemum Festival. Will it be the obelisk form? Pagoda tower? Traditional Japanese fan? The honor goes to … the cloud forms! Want to see these beauties in person? Only a few days remain to experience the wonder of Chrysanthemum Festival, featuring thousands of carefully nurtured specialty chrysanthemums trained into fanciful umbrellas to teardrops, sculptural spirals to pagodas, and so much more. Member reservations are not required to visit our Gardens now through November 14.
