NYU New Parent and Families Reception at Move-In Day

New Parents and Families Welcome Reception

Wednesday, January 18, 5pm-6:30pm ES

NYU Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square S., Rosenthal Pavilion, 10th Floor

This informal reception is where you can meet some of the key people at NYU and connect with other parents and family members. Refreshments will be served.

Note: This event is primarily meant for parents and family members to attend. While you are at the reception, your student can use the time to meet other new students. Students can either attend the Commuter Student Welcome happening at the same time on the 4th floor or make friends in their Residence Hall before their evening floor meeting.

For your convenience, a free shuttle is available between Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Before the Reception | Pick up at 6 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn (Tandon School of Engineering) at 4:15pm, Arrive at Kimmel Center at 4:40pm
After the Reception | Pick up at Kimmel Center at 6:50pm, Arrive at 6 MetroTech Center at 7:15pm

Sat, Jan 21 - Sun, Jan 22: Weekend events both in Brooklyn and Manhattan for new students to make friends
Mon, Jan 23: First Day of Classes
Wed, Jan 25: Presidential Welcome Reality Show (6:30pm)
Thurs, Jan 26: Transfer Welcome Social

Spring Welcome events for your student include: Club Fest, Bob Ross Paint Night, Drag Karaoke, Wonderland Dreams Hand Painted Immersive Exhibit, Open Mic Night, Silent Disco, Academic Success Workshops, NYC Excursions, Group Fitness Classes, Meet the Greeks, Speed Meetings, and more! Encourage your student to find the schedule of events on their NYU Mobile app and meet new people.
