Summertime is almost here and we are looking for volunteers! Our program is a great way to earn SSL hours in an energetic, hands-on environment. Students can choose from several time slots and set their own weekly schedules to accommodate summer vacations or other activities. Take a Bite Out of Hunger
Ride On bus passengers can help needy families and ride free by donating canned or nonperishable food during the 32nd annual “Give and Ride” food drive. Food collection bags will be placed near the fare boxes on all Ride On buses. Ride On will collect donations now through Saturday, May 4. Food collected through the drive goes to the Manna Food Center, which feeds thousands of hungry families in our community every month. Click here to see the most needed foods list.
Legislative Wrap Up 2019
The Maryland General Assembly completed its work for the 2019 Legislative Session and adjourned on April 8th at midnight. The Arc Maryland has compiled a Legislative Wrap Up Report which covers the budget and bills which will impact our community. Click here for more details.
MoCo Summer Fun Montgomery County Recreation is offering a variety of summer camps throughout the county-- everything from chess to cheerleading, or acting to ultimate frisbee.There are inclusive offerings and programs that cater to developmental disabilities. Senior SmarTrip— Discounted and Free Fares
Who says nothing is free? Perhaps they didn't know there's a SmarTrip card for seniors (65+) that may be used to ride Metrorail at senior fares and to ride free on Ride-On buses and some MoCo Metrobuses (Monday-Friday 9:30 am-3 pm and Saturday 8:30 am-4 pm).
