| Club Action Needed: New 4-H Leaders Association Board Structure
|
The 4-H Leaders Association and Board structure has been revamped and will be rolling out this November. As part of this, we are looking for your club’s participation.
What are the next steps?
|
-
November - At your club’s meeting: each club should delegate one adult volunteer and one youth member to represent your club at the 2024-2025 Leaders Board meetings. You decide how your delegates are chosen: elected, appointed, volunteered, etc.
-
December 3, 6:30-8:30pm, location TBD - Your club’s youth & adult delegates attend the first board meeting to meet each other, vote on annual items and elect executive board officers
- January 7, 6:30-8:30pm, location TBD - Youth & adult delegates attend an All-Member Board meeting for orientation, team-building, fun & food!
|
- Youth delegates aged 14 or older are ideal, but younger members are welcome if they are enthusiastic and willing to participate in group efforts.
- The dates, times, and frequencies of future meetings will be determined by the new Board members. Historically, the Board has met the first Tuesday of the month, but future meeting schedules will be determined by what works best for the new Board members.

| Are all adult volunteers in your club approved in 4HOnline?
|
We still have 72 adult volunteers who have enrolled in 4HOnline but have not yet completed their background screening, and/or required trainings. These requirements keep our kids safe! Please encourage your club's adult volunteers to complete any necessary screening/training requirements. Call us at the Extension office if you have any questions about who is authorized to volunteer in your club: 262-335-4478.
Wisconsin 4-H requires adults be approved in 4-H Online before they offer volunteer service.

| 4-H Thriving Survey coming soon – please invite your club members to respond!
|
Wisconsin 4-H is sending a survey by email the first week of November to all 4-H members aged 13-19. Please encourage your club members to respond! Results from this survey help determine the direction of Wisconsin 4-H. We want Washington County's youth to have a say in that direction!!
Youth who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 gift card. The survey, developed by National 4-H Leaders, will ask youth about their 4-H experience, which will help Wisconsin 4-H to learn about the quality of our programs.
Visit 4-H Thriving Model – Wisconsin 4-H for more information on the 4-H Thriving Model.
